Peta Smyth has been dealing in antique textiles since 1976. After closing her shop in Pimlico, which was renowned for its extensive and comprehensive stock of beautiful and fine textiles and attracted a loyal and diverse clientele of interior designers, antiques dealers and private collectors, her attention is now focused on selling cushions.
Whether made with 16th or 17th century tapestry, 18th century French needlework, or 20th century Fortuny, these cushions allow smaller pieces of such rare and beautiful textiles to be used again, and to serve either as fitting complements to an interior filled with antique furniture and decoration, or as focal points in a more modern setting.
Also listed on the website are some remaining tapestries and textiles - a final opportunity to own a part of this notable collection.
The words of Nicky Haslam, quoted in The London Magazine, remain apt… 'Peta Smyth's rare and beautiful antique textiles provide not just unique furnishing materials, but are also a source of constant inspiration'.
